About AIESEC in Norway

Develop your leadership with aiesec.

AIESEC in Norway is one of the oldest entities in AIESEC, established in 1948. Since then, we have grown into five local committees in four of the major cities in Norway: Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim and Tromsø. Our mission is to help young people develop their leadership skills through professional and volunteer experiences, and through cultural exchange. We believe that sustainable, informed and globally-minded leadership can help us solve many issues faced by society today. Thus, we offer the youth of Norway the opportunity to live and work abroad whilst contributing to one of the 17 sustainable development goals of the UN.

LET's LOOK AT SOME STORIES

Anja

I want to start by saying that while being in AIESEC I learned how to deal with multiple challenges that are relevant in my workplace today! I entered the workforce equipped with a better understanding and ability for how to solve both strategic and operational tasks. I was part of a managerial team, where we discussed and made strategic decisions that impacted the local committee in a positive manner - an experience that has been very valuable when looking back at it.

. I was in AIESEC a little over two years, and finished my journey as the country manager/CEO of AIESEC Norway. In AIESEC I was responsible for about 60 members and a core team of 4 devision managers. I was also the core representative for our 120 partner countries, in charge of communication. I had an incredible year, and a wonderful journey in my role in the organization, and I can honestly say I've never learned more about myself or others in my life then I have the last two years.

I have been a part of AIESEC in Norway for almost two years. During my time I have had four different positions, and led three different teams. I have learned how to organize and plan activities, as well as manage content for social media. AIESEC has taught me soft skills like patience and communication, and practical skills such as managing teams, meetings and time. The best part, however, is all the friends I've made along the way.

I gave my contribution in important projects and decided to continue working with Hano after the end of the internship. I was offered a position as Lead Technology Architect which I was more than happy to accept. Thanks to AIESEC I was able to find an opportunity that boosted my professional career. . During my stay, I’ve had the chance to meet wonderful people, experience a different culture and visit beautiful sightseeing places I would definitely recommend this leadership program to everyone who is in the first steps of his career. You won’t regret it! Just be confident and make your life journey unique!
