The AIESEC Alumni network is as diverse as AIESEC itself. More than 800,000 Alumni are spread over 100 countries, representing 60 generations and working across professions and industries. AIESEC Alumni are playing important roles in their organisations and communities.
AIESEC is proud of its alumni. After being present in Norway for 60 years now there are quite a lot of alumni there. AIESEC Norway alumni can be found across Norway and around the world, in various levels of government, non-profits, and the private sector. Our alumni continue to have a positive impact on the world and those around them.
The most committed alumni make the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is an external body that holds AIESEC Norway financially accountable. They also act as a supporting body of knowldge for each National Board of AIESEC Norway to keep the learnings of previous years.
Our Board of Directors currently has 5 members and was just started last year in autumn 2008. The Chairman of the Board is Harald Korn. He is currently the Chairman of the BoD in The performance group where he also acts as a Consulatant. He was President of AIESEC Norway in 1984-85.
Harald Korn:
"AIESEC provides an unique opportunity to gain management experience in an international environment. One of the best experience I had was in West Africa.
After an international boardmeeting on the Ivory Coast, I had been asked to work with AIESEC Ghana in the area of relations with the public and private industry in Accra. There was a time of many exciting meetings, including the head of Ghana's National Bank and several heads of local industries - and last but not least a beautiful and instructive encounter with the local culture.
AIESEC is operated today as a professional business - providing valuable experience at an early stage of the career. AIESEC has given me the pleasure of good friendships, many great experiences in meeting with people through all journeys for destinations I probably otherwise would never reach, and a solid foundation in understanding organizations in their work. Would I have chosen it over again? Definitely. The only thing I would desire in addition would be a decent work in Asia or South America! "
